Celebrate with MWW!

This past July Midwest Writers Workshop celebrated its 50th anniversary! Take a look through our photo vault of vintage MWW and get a sense of how this organization has gathered and guided writers through the decades.

We also gave a huge sendoff to its director of 25 of those years–Jama Kehoe Bigger. Jama has served MWW in multiple capacities for nearly forty years and has made a dramatic impact on the Midwest writing community. Enjoy this video of thank yous from (just a few of the MANY) writers she’s helped. Send your own video or note to midwestwriters@yahoo.com

MWW Success Stories

We’re always thrilled to hear about MWW alum success stories! If you’ve had something published–a poem, an article, a short story, a novel; if you’ve been featured in a blog or interview, please send us a note so that we can feature you!

What Others Have To Say…

“Over the years, I’ve participated in more conferences than I can count, but time after time, Midwest Writers Workshop ranks among the best of the best. The students are anxious to learn, the faculty comes to teach, and the result is electrifying.

Jane Friedman

“Midwest Writers Workshop is a very special place for writers. I’ve been speaking and attending its sessions for nearly 15 years, and the sense of community and support is outstanding. It has played a role in launching numerous successful author careers—unsurprising, since it works so thoughtfully to fulfill its mission of helping writers flourish and be their best selves.”

Lori Rader-Day, Edgar Award-nominated and Agatha, Anthony, and Mary Higgins Clark award-winning author

“Midwest Writers Workshop has been with me my entire career, nudging me forward and helping me discover what kind of writer I was supposed to be, and then helping me reach my writing and publishing goals.”

Ashley C. Ford author of memoir, Somebody’s Daughter

“I’ve had the MOST fun teaching at #MWW. I started out interning at this conference, and then to teach a five-hour writing intensive! Wow.”
